Meditation can be so beneficial for our mental health..... so how do I start?

If you have read Tim Ferriss' book "Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers" you would have noticed that the majority of people that he interviews talk about meditation and mindfulness as being a key factor in their success. Even if you haven't read his book, the research into the benefits of mediation are pretty compelling - even a short daily practice has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve concentration and attention, reduce stress, enhance self awareness and insight, improve emotional regulation and improve sleep.


So.... how does one meditate?! One of the women Tim Ferriss interviewed, Maria Popova, uses Tara Brach's Smile Guided Meditation every morning. Given it is free and readily available on YouTube, why not start there? 10 minutes a day for better mental health? You can do that.
